ACR 2774 Automatic Release EPIRB.
The ACR 2774 Satellite2 406 MHz category I automatic release EPIRB uses a patented proprietary electronics package for faster, more stable 406 frequency transmissions and has a built-in strobe light for enhanced location in poor visibility conditions. The ACR 2774 is a Cat I EPIRB which means that it comes with a fully enclosed, high density, UV stabilized polyethylene bracket with hydrostatic release. The hydrostatic release automatically deploys the EPIRB if the vessel sinks to approximately 13 ft (4m). Once Deployed the EPIRB will automatically activate.
You will always know that your EPIRB is operational thanks to its full functional self-test including battery voltage and internal circuitry. The 2774 uses a single, three position switch for easy test and operation. Once activated the Satellite2 transmits on 406 MHz (COSPAS-SARSAT) with your registered, digitally-coded distress signal, and 121.5 MHz (SAR homing frequency). These transmissions will alert the appropriate authorities with your location as well as personal information about boat and crew.
The 2774 will operate/transmit for 48 hour at -20°C(-4°F) and has a 5 year warranty.
