The Garmin Nuvi 885T first of all comes with all the obvious features like a High sensitivity receiver, preloaded maps of North America, the ability to add international maps, auto re-route, voice prompts with spoken street names and choices of routing options. The 885 T also offers you all of the premium features you have come to expect from the Garmin Nuvi GPS line. Consider a GPS that will not only allow you to input an address, but give you verbal directions to your destination, and state the name of the street in those directions. Now add the very high end options like Bluetooth, for hands free cell phone communication, multiple address routing allowing you to add a number of addresses or waypoints and have the GPS provide an optimized route through those points; You can also store up to 10 routes and 500 waypoints.

Like previous 800 models the 885T features Voice Activation too, giving you the ability to input destinations by speaking to the gps itself and offers a replaceable battery to increase its life away from a 12V power source. The Nuvi 885T, like the other Nuvi’s, also offers different map views from Track up, North up to 3D. Also included is the “Where am I” feature to find nearest hospitals, police and gas stations, as well as the nearest address and intersection. Of course full mapping for the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico are preloaded and available for use, along with speed limit indicators, and geotagged photos allowing you to navigate to photos.

The Nuvi 885T comes with built-in “HotFix” technology which uses satellite prediction so that your Nuvi can calculate your position and route you to your destination faster. Add new features like “Lane Assist” which will direct you into the correct lane, when exiting multiple lane highways. Lastly the Nuvi 885T comes with next-generation dynamic content from MSN Direct which incorporates new services being offered as part of the subscription service. The World clock, currency and unit converter, calculator, picture viewer, phono jack/audio line out, FM transmitter, and MP3 player are all still standard on the Nuvi 885T. The Nuvi 885T replaces the Nuvi 880.
