The Garmin Oregon 200 is a cutting edge, rugged, waterproof handheld GPS to help you navigate your next outdoor adventure. At first glance you might wonder why the Oregon 200 has no buttons; well who needs buttons when you have a fully functional touch screen. The touch screen is a large 3” diagonal and is viewable in any lighting condition, even direct sunlight. At the heart of the Garmin 200 is a high sensitivity GPS receiver for the ultimate in satellite reception and acquisition times. Hotfix technology will also help decrease acquisition times by prediction satellite location based on past positions.
The Oregon 200 handheld GPS has a microSD slot. You can add a microSD card to store the optional MapSource detailed maps like City Navigator and Bluechart. By adding the City Navigator NT software, the Garmin Oregon will then be able to guide you with on screen text, turn-by-turn directions for navigating in your vehicle. Garmin has also made many of its more popular Mapsource titles available on pre-loaded microSD cards, including Bluechart Americas and City Navigator Europe. There is no need to connect your Oregon 200 to your PC for map uploading when using the pre-programmed cards.
The Garmin Oregon 200 features do not stop there. You will also get 15 hours of continuous use off of 2 AA batteries, NiMH or Lithium batteries are recommended. You can even setup different user profiles for auto, marine, recreation and geocaching situations.
