Touch Screen Handheld GPS with a Preloaded Basemap of the World.
The Garmin Oregon 300 is the centerpiece of the Garmin Oregon line of Touchscreen GPS. The 3” Touchscreen display means no confusing buttons and a much more intuitive menu system. The touchscreen is very sensitive to your touch but is rugged enough for those outdoor adventures and can be locked if you are worried about accidentally changing screens. With the 300 you will never have to worry about where in the world you are with the pre-loaded worldwide basemap which includes coastline detail, political boundaries and highway level detail. The Oregon 300 is also customizable by allowing you to choose the user profile that meets your needs best, choose between: automotive, marine, recreation, fitness or geocache. You can also use the Oregon 300’s MicroSD card slot to load additional detailed maps.
Behind the high resolution, 400 x 240, display of the Garmin 300 is a feature packed GPS. Garmin’s Hotfix technology will lock your GPS in quickly to your location and the High-sensitivity antenna will keep you locked in and provide much better performance than previous models. Along with the pre-loaded world maps, the 300 also has a built-in 3-D basemap with Digital Elevation Model.
The Oregon 300 still has a few new and old features like the ability to wirelessly exchange routes, tracks, waypoints and geocaches to other Oregon or Colorado units. The built-in electric compass and barometric pressure altimeter are highly desired features for any serious hiker as well as it’s waterproof rating of IPX7.
The Oregon 300 replaces the Colorado 300.
