The Oregon 400c handheld GPS give boaters the comfort to know they can safely navigate on their next cruise. When you take your fist look at the Oregon 400c you ask,” Where are the buttons?” Since this handheld powerhouse has a touch screen, there is no need for buttons. The Garmin 400c display is also sunlight viewable and a big 3” on the diagonal. Right inside the case is a 12 channel highly sensitive GPS receiver for the very best in reception and satellite tracking. Hotfix technology will ensure that your Oregon 400c will lock in ultra fast by predicting satellite positions based historical data of location and time. Last but certainly not least all of these great features are housed in a casing that is not only rugged but also waterproof to IPX-7 standards for the ultimate protection from outdoor elements.
The Oregon 400c is a full featured mapping GPS which means it is preloaded with not only a Digital Elevation basemap, but also the detailed Garmin Mapsource Bluchart maps for the entire United States including the Great Lakes and Bahamas. The Bluechart maps will show information such as coastlines, shaded depth contours, navaids, port plans, wrecks, restricted areas, tides and current information, right on the Garmin 400c display. You can also add a microSD card to store the optional MapSource detailed maps like City Navigator NT and Topo 2008. By adding the City Navigator NT software, the Garmin Oregon will then be able to guide you with on screen text, turn-by-turn directions for navigating in your vehicle. Garmin has also made many of its more popular Mapsource titles available on pre-loaded microSD cards, including Topo 2008 and City Navigator Europe. When you purchase the pre-programmed microSD cards, there is no need to connect your Oregon 400c to your PC for map uploading.
The Oregon 400c has plenty of other features that will make navigation easier and more enjoyable. Every Oregon 400 units has a built in barometric altimeter for accurate elevation data and an electronic compass that displays an accurate heading while standing still. You can even view the maps loaded in the Garmin Oregon in a 3D mode right on the display. Every Garmin Oregon has the ability to wirelessly share waypoints, routes, and tracks with other Garmin Oregon and Colorado users. Other features include area calculation, the ability to select different profiles for different applications, image viewer and a geocache mode.
The Oregon 400c replaces the Colorado 400c.
