Chad McCumbee Finishes 23rd at the Milwaukee Mile.

theGPSstore.com / Garmin Chevrolet Was Strong Even After Bad Luck

The Milwaukee Mile brought home another solid finish for Chad McCumbee in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series despite the adversity that was thrown their way. The No. 08 theGPSstore.com / Garmin Chevrolet team was able to work their way through the field, using both pit strategy and sheer driving ability to bring home a 23rd place finish from a 31st starting position.

"Milwaukee is not exactly what we were hoping for," said McCumbee. "We struggled through most of the day trying to get theGPSstore.com / Garmin Chevrolet where we needed it to be.

"We were finally able to get it going good and we probably made one of the biggest moves from our starting position than anybody. After starting 31st we were able to drive our way up into the top-15."

Things were looking good for the No. 08 theGPSstore.com / Garmin Chevrolet team once they had worked their way up front, but things went awry when another competitor made contact with the No. 08 on the front stretch.

"Another competitor who had slowed on the front stretch cut down in front of us after we had already committed to the low side," added McCumbee. "After that our chances for competing for the win were done. All we could really do was ride around to finish the race and try to earn as many points as we could. So we had to settle for 23rd instead of what could have been a really good finish."

Chad and theGPSstore.com / Garmin Chevrolet will be in action Saturday June 30th at Memphis Motorsports Park.
