Chad McCumbee Ready For Return to Short Tracks.
The No. 08 theGPSstore.com / Garmin Chevrolet Team Push Forward to Mansfield
MOORESVILLE, NC (May 23, 2007) - With Lowe's Motor Speedway in his rear view mirror, Chad McCumbee is now looking forward as a busy stretch of NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series racing continues on this weekend. The series will be heading back to the short tracks with the next event coming this Saturday at Mansfield Motorsport Park (OH).
"I am really looking forward to going to Mansfield,' said McCumbee. "Our performance with theGPSstore.com / Garmin Chevrolet Silverado at Martinsville was great and I really think that we have picked up our short track program a lot over where we were last year. I am feeling pretty confident into going to Mansfield."
Mansfield will be the second stop in the streak of continuous races for the Truck Series, and it's not the only series that McCumbee is looking forward to competing with in the near future.
"We have a lot of good tracks coming up here with the Truck Series. I also have my Nextel Cup debut coming up here in the month of June as well. It will be a little hectic but I am really exciting about everything coming up over the next few weeks.
While Chad's latest victory may have came on the high banked Nashville Superspeedway [in ARCA competition], his roots still stem from the short tracks, and he is shooting for the chance to bring home the No. 08 theGPSstore.com / Garmin Chevrolet up front.
"I think that we have a real chance to put our truck up front at Mansfield," added McCumbee. "We are going to be racing back to back for a few weeks now so we just have to make sure we get some solid finishes and bring home our Chevy in one piece."
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series continue their season this Saturday May 26th, 2007 at Mansfield Motorsport Park
