Chad McCumbee Ready to Go Short Track Racing.

Martinsville Speedway Next Up For NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series

Chad McCumbee will be getting back to his roots this weekend as the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is heading back to a short track. This weekend they will take on the infamous paper-clip shaped Martinsville Speedway (VA).

"Our short track program has improved a lot and I am really ready to get back racing," said McCumbee.

"We have been at so many intermediate tracks and the super speedways that it is going to be a drastic change of pace but I am looking forward to it. It is fun to get back to the grassroots of racing where most everybody came from.

"It is one of the more unusual tracks that we run. There is a lot of single file racing and a lot of follow the leader. The trucks don't fall off too much, it's a lot of nose to tail racing but it can be fun, hopefully we will end this weekend up front."

In his past two starts at Martinsville in a Craftsman Truck McCumbee has brought home two solid finishes and he looks to be able to better than with his first short track start of 2007.

"The truck race last year was the first time that I had ever ran there," added McCumbee. "Last year we ran for two different teams and brought home some solid finishes. Hopefully we can put the theGPSstore.com / Garmin Chevrolet up front this weekend."

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will be back in action this Saturday March 31st, at Martinsville Speedway.
