Mechanical Problems Thwart Chad McCumbee's Top-10 Finish.

Young Driver Solid In Truck Race Until Battery Spells Trouble For Team

Chad McCumbee knows that there is a break somewhere out there, now he and theGPSStore.com / Garmin Chevrolet just need to find it. Bad luck struck the team in the form of mechanical problems this weekend as the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series were back in action at Kansas Speedway.

"We unfortunately had some bad luck this weekend," said McCumbee. "We had another shot at a top-10 this weekend, and in a perfect world we would have three top-10s in a row.

"This weekend we had a battery die on us, and an alternator issue. We ran around as long as we could but we unfortunately had to come in and get that changed and we lost a few laps in the process."

Despite the mechanical issues, there were some silver linings to the cloud of bad luck that hung over the team. The team had a solid run, and was running times similar to the leaders despite not being on the lead lap. While the 27th-place finish wasn't the one that the team deserved, they will take what they learned and look to Lowe's.

"I was really happy with the way we were running," added McCumbee. "Even when we went back out there we were turning laps that easily could have had us in the top-10 or top-five. That is just pretty aggravating having another weekend like that.

"But that is just part of it. We will just get back to the shop, regroup and make sure that theGPSStore.com / Garmin Chevrolet is ready for the next race at Lowe's Motor Speedway."

The next race for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will be on May 18th at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, NC.
