A replacement for the XL 330S, the 340S combines a wide 4.3”, ultra-bright display with preloaded TeleAtlas maps for the US (including Puerto Rico), Canada & Mexico and more than 7 million Points of Interest including restaurants, gas stations, shopping malls and golf courses. Don't worry about your maps being out-of-date because if a new map is released within 30 days of the purchase of your TomTom 340S, you can download it for free from TomTom HOME. The 340S is also compatible with TomTom’s Map Share technology which will allow you to add to, update personalize your maps instantly and download other users' changes daily. All MapShare information is verified by TomTom.
24/7 IQ Routes Technology – The TomTom XL340S is a smart GPS in that it knows not only the best route to take but also the best time to choose those routes. The Routes will be calculated actual average speeds of travel rather than posted speed limits. An example would be the 340S routing you around a city during rush hour even though it may route you through that same city in the middle of the day when the traffic is light. The XL340S was designed with ease of use in mind and with Text-to-Speech routing, spoken street names, and Advanced Lane Guidance this unit could not be easier to use.
