The Simrad NAC-3 Autopilot Computer is recommended for boats over 10M (35 feet). It is rated to operate high-current drive pumps including the Simrad RPU160 and RPU300, mechanical drives including the Simrad DD15, hydraulic linear drives including the HLD2000 series and solenoid valves.
Being built with Virtual Rudder Feedback (VRF) eliminates the need to install a separate rudder feedback unit on outboard and sterndrive boats. This reduces overall autopilot system cost and complexity, making it ideal where a feedback unit is impractical due to mechanical constraints. However, for all of you Simrad RF25 and RF25N users, the NAC-2 does support both rudder sensors via NMEA 2000.
For Complete autopilot setup, a compatible Simrad or B&G display, and pump/drive are required.
