Manual Release EPIRB with AIS and RLS

The ACR 2852 GlobalFIX V5 406 EPIRB Category II with Internal 72 Channel GPS is a manually activated EPIRB that may save your life in the event of an emergency on the water. Now with AIS, RLS (Return Link Service) and ACR Mobile App! With the added AIS function, when the EPIRB is activated not only does it transmit your emergency signal to the Global Cospas Sarsat satellite rescue system, but it also broadcasts an AIS safety message over VHF frequencies that can be seen immediately by AIS equipped vessels that are nearby. What this means for you is a higher chance of being seen and rescued sooner!

New to the 2852 EPIRB is Return Link Service (RLS) that will provide visual confirmation that a distress signal has been received with a 121.5 MHz homing signal. Return Link Service (RLS) technology is so intuitive that it can tell whoever triggers the SOS that a distress message has been delivered by having an RLS signal sent back through the Galileo Satellite network confirming the message, precise beacon location, and identifiers have been detected along with a flashing blue light indicating a successful message has been received helping reduce stress in a mayday situation.

Being the first in its class to offer AIS and Near Field Communication (NFC) within one EPIRB, the ACR2852 effectively pairs global and local rescue teams maximizing effective rescue resources virtually anywhere in the world. NFC technology gives access to EPIRB diagnostics using a smartphone. When a smartphone is placed adjacent to this V5 EPIRB, an ACR Product App automatically opens to view beacon status information such as battery life, number of self-tests completed, number of GNSS tests performed, and the length of time your EPIRB has been activated. The GNSS testing can show a map view through the smartphone app pinpointing where a previous test was performed, with date & time information, how long it took your EPIRB to get a fix and more. - It’s now easier than ever before to ensure this lifesaving device is ready to go when an emergency strikes.

ACR developed the 2852 Cat II EPIRB with AIS and RLS with all the needs of a serious boater in mind. The 72 Channel internal GPS receiver will acquire satellites quicker from a cold start and send your position to the emergency responders via the 406 MHz distress signal frequency as well as the 121.5 MHz homing beacon signal that will bring rescue personnel directly to your position. This makes it less expensive and quicker for the mariner to have an EPIRB that is ready when needed.

The 2852 Cat 2 EPIRB is manually activated and it can be self-tested up to 120 times, there is a self-test counter to keep track of the number for you as well.

If you aren’t required to have a Cat I EPIRB with hydrostatic release the 2852 Cat 2 EPIRB is a great option to have in your ditch bag or mounted to your vessel in case of an emergency.

The built-in bright LED strobe light consumes less energy than a traditional strobe without sacrificing intensity and most importantly, the Pro 406 EPIRB will transmit for a minimum of 48 hours at -20C degrees.
