Black Box AIS Receiver
This NMEA 2000 compliant AIS receiver is a must have for any vessel. Superb exchange of accurate information across a NMEA 2000 network to a Furuno TZTouch2 or TZTouch3 MFD, allows your compatible MFD to be a HUB of AIS data. A NMEA 2000 port, 2x NMEA 0183 ports, and one USB (micro-B) port make installation a breeze no matter how you decide to connect to your current MFD system.
AIS improves your safety level while boating by increasing your awareness of other vessels that are transmitting their position. AIS targets are visible when your FA40 receiver is interfaced with your compatible Furuno MFD. Simply tap on an AIS target on your MFD to reveal critical information such as ship names, COG, SOG, CPA, TCPA, Range and Bearing of other vessels around you.
The FA40 is an AIS receiver and does NOT transmit your position.
