One Varia Radar can provide riders with multiple display options when paired with your Edge 2 device or smartphone, or, both at the same time. A small design makes this device easier than ever to install and can be mounted on just about any bike with a vertical design that allows for better leg clearance for a more comfortable ride.

Stay connected virtually anywhere. When paired with your compatible smartphone, you can control music through your Explore 2, stay connected with GroupTrack and LiveTrack features, rider-to-rider messaging, and more. The Edge Explore 2 is also compatible with a variety of sensors including the included Varia RVR315 rearview radar. Train virtually anywhere with Smart Trainer Compatibility when paired with your Tacx indoor trainer (sold separately) so when you can’t get outdoors, you can stay active anywhere. With the ClimbPro Feature, the Explore 2 can automatically gauge and show you the remaining ascent and grade when you’re climbing while following a specified route or course. For those riders who have an eBike that’s compatible with Shimano Steps or ANT+ technology, the Edge Explore 2 will display a dedicated eBike status screen showing data fields that include battery life, smart routing, assist levels, and more.

After your Edge Explore 2 is paired with your compatible smartphone, you have the ability to keep up with riding partners, even when they aren’t in plain sight. The GroupTrack feature allows you to keep up with up to 50 riding friends at one time and allows you to message the group with the Group Messaging feature if you get separated or if an emergency occurs. Incident detection will automatically send a message with your location to emergency contacts if an incident is detected giving you an added peace of mind. A PIN-protected bike alarm will notify you via your paired smartphone if your bike moves while stopped along your route for a pit stop or rehydrating preparing for the next leg of your adventure.

‘Ride Type’ specific mapping highlights popular roads and trails and will also alert you on your Edge Explore 2 of high traffic areas to avoid and provides a searchable database for points of interest along your route. Create your own courses through the Garmin Connect app with Strava, Komoot, Wikiloc, and more to sync to your Explore 2 in an instance. On screen turn by turn directions will alert you of upcoming turns and when you get off course, the recalculation feature will allow you to pause your route guidance, and get back to biking when you’re ready and will pick back up to show you the way.
