Wireless man overboard detection and engine cutoff marine system

The Garmin OnBoard System gives boaters a modern, wireless approach to man-overboard safety. Instead of dealing with old-school kill-switch lanyards, this setup uses compact wireless MOB tags that can be worn on the wrist, clipped with a carabiner, or attached to a floating key ring. Each tag can be assigned as either a captain or passenger within your compatible Garmin chartplotter, allowing the system to react appropriately if someone goes overboard.

If a tag goes overboard, the system immediately triggers an onboard alarm and drops a man-overboard waypoint on your Garmin display so you can turn back fast. When the tag is assigned as the captain, the Garmin OnBoard system can also cut engine power, helping prevent the vessel from moving farther away from the person in the water. A built-in external beeper on the GOS 10 hub ensures the alert is loud and unmistakable, even in noisy running conditions.

The GOS 10 hub is designed for the marine environment, built in a compact 155 × 92 × 60 mm (6 × 3.6 × 2.4 in) housing and weighing just 171 g (6 oz). It carries an IPX7 water rating to stand up to spray, washdowns, and rough conditions. The unit operates on 10–35 Vdc and typically draws around 50 mA at 12 volts. Wireless communication runs through Bluetooth at 2.4 GHz, giving solid, reliable tag coverage across the boat.

The Garmin OnBoard System includes all the components for a clean installation: the GOS 10 hub, a 12-pin fused power and engine-cutoff harness, an external antenna, and a NMEA 2000 tee with a 6-foot drop cable for seamless integration into your existing network (NMEA2000 Network Required, Sold Separately) .
