NAC-2 is the Core of your Autopilot Setup
The Simrad NAC-2 Autopilot Computer is the brains behind your autopilot operation. Designed to helm a boat across a broad range of weather conditions and sea-states with a max clutch output of 3 amps, this computer has all the electronics needed to operate a hydraulic steering or mechanical drive unit. This is all while still interfacing with other components such as heading sensors and rudder feedback units. Suitable for vessels up to 35’ (10M) long, the NAC-2 Autopilot Computer is designed for low-current drive pumps, mechanical drives, hydraulic linear drives, and solenoid valves (8 continuous amps/16 peak amps).
Being built with Virtual Rudder Feedback (VRF) eliminates the need to install a separate rudder feedback unit on outboard and sterndrive boats. This reduces overall autopilot system cost and complexity, making it ideal where a feedback unit is impractical due to mechanical constraints. However, for all of you Simrad RF25 and RF25N users, the NAC-2 does support both rudder sensors.
The NAC-2 is easily installed via plug-and-play connectors to your NMEA 2000 backbone, minimizing the wiring necessary to install your autopilot system. NMEA 2000 compatibility offers simple connectivity to heading sensors, rudder feedbacks, dedicated autopilot controllers, and multifunction displays.
For Complete autopilot setup, a compatible Simrad or B&G display, and pump/drive are required.
