The Icom 94D handheld VHF is the first of its kind to have a built-in AIS receiver! With the integrated AIS receiver, vessel traffic information is shown on the display. When you are coming through heavily congested areas this can provide you the ability see vessels around you and provides added peace of mind for you and your crew! The AIS target call function allows you to easily set up a DSC individual call. Distress calls can be made with the rear panel button, and when you press the Distress button when the float n’ flash is activated it will transmit the MOB Signal for added protection of shipmates.

If your Icom 94D ends up going overboard the VHF will float and flash showing you its exact location, even if it’s turned off! The built-in Aquaquake feature vibrates at a certain frequency to remove water from the grill, but with a water rating of IPX 7 will insure it can take submersion as well. The easy to read display has backlighting that is dimmable to adjust for changing lighting conditions, so you can clearly see the content on the screen.
