Each 8700 Black Box provides 4 ethernet ports, 2 micro USB connections, wireless connectivity, 1 HDMI in - 1 HDMI out, 4 NMEA 0183 inputs, 2 NMEA 0183 output ports, and is also NMEA 2000 compatible.

Automatically sync your personal preferences and user data for all networked chartplotters with the Garmin SmartMode control for one-touch access to docking, cruising, fishing, and more. NMEA 2000 support and the Garmin Marine network allow you to easily build a full electronics suite from radar to autopilot, cameras, instruments, and forward looking sonar. Add and integrate internal sonar sharing, apps, engine data, and more for a simplified system build. Garmin’s exclusive OneHelm system coordinates many third-party onboard marine products such as lighting, stabilization, Fusion entertainment, and more.

Pair the Garmin 8700 Black Box with the GPS19x external GPS receiver (sold separately and required) to update your position and heading up to 10 times per second offering a more fluid vessel movement on your compatible plotter display. Add a Garmin Card reader into the mix (sold separately) to obtain a convenient remote station providing a single access point for 2 mapping slots that can be vertically or horizontally mounted. Multiple card readers can also be mounted and integrated for additional access points throughout your vessel.

Garmin offers several Premium chart options for this Garmin black box including Garmin Navionics Vision+ charts. Garmin Navionics Vision+ charts include both coastal and inland coverage within the region of your choice. Data is sourced from Garmin and Navionics in order to provide you with exceptional detail. These charts include 1-year of daily updates, ensuring your chart data is always current! Premium features include High Resolution Relief Shading, High Resolution Satellite Imagery, Sonar Imagery, Aerial Photography, SideScan Images and More! Garmin Navionics Vision+ charts require premium content to be downloaded post purchase. Other chart options for this unit include Garmin BlueChart G3 Vision and Garmin LakeVu Ultra charts. All premium chart options are available in the region of your choice and sold separately.
