EPIRB with Hydrostatic Release, AIS, RLS!

The ACR 2851 Globalfix V5 CAT1 EPIRB with Hydrostatic Release is the perfect addition to your boat to give you an added peace of mind every time you enter the water. As one of the most advanced EPIRBS available, the 2851 includes visible infrared strobe lights for easy target identification at night or in poor visibility situations and combines a 406 MHz satellite connection along with AIS (automatic identification system) functionality. When activated the 2851 utilizes a global Cospas Sarsat satellite rescue system along with an AIS safety message through VHF frequencies to be seen immediately by any nearby AIS equipped vessel.

The included ACR 2279 RapidDitch Express Bag is a large capacity, floating gear bag made to store all of your essential safety equipment safely in case of an abandon ship situation. It is made of durable, water resistant fabric, has one large internal compartment and a GPS or EPIRB pocket.

New to the 2851 EPIRB is Return Link Service (RLS) that will provide visual confirmation that a distress signal has been received with a 121.5 MHz homing signal. Return Link Service (RLS) technology is so intuitive that it can tell whoever triggers the SOS that a distress message has been delivered by having an RLS signal sent back through the Galileo Satellite network confirming the message, precise beacon location, and identifiers have been detected along with a flashing blue light indicating a successful message has been received helping reduce stress in a mayday situation.

Being the first in its class to offer AIS and Near Field Communication (NFC) within one EPIRB, the ACR2851 effectively pairs global and local rescue teams maximizing effective rescue resources virtually anywhere in the world. NFC technology gives access to EPIRB diagnostics using a smartphone. When a smartphone is placed adjacent to this V5 EPIRB, an ACR Product App automatically opens to view beacon status information such as battery life, number of self-tests completed, number of GNSS tests performed, and the length of time your EPIRB has been activated.
