Display

Charting

The GPSMAP 9224 chartplotter includes preloaded coastal and inland charting for the United States with Auto Guidance+ Routing and 1-year of free daily updates via ActiveCaptain (*Subscription Required). Preloaded Garmin Navionics Charts include detailed coverage of the entire U.S. coasts, lakes, rivers and inland waterways, plus Alaska and Hawaii. Canada coverage of coastal British Columbia, the Great Lakes, the St. Lawrence Seaway, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Coverage includes Bermuda, the Bahamas, Baja California, the Gulf of California, Johnston Atoll and Palmyra Atoll/Kingman Reef. Premium Charting Options available, The Garmin GPSMAP GN+ displays are compatible with Garmin Navionics Vision+ charts, Garmin's premier chart offering. Garmin Navionics Vision+ charts include both coastal and lake coverage within the region of your choice. Data is sourced from Garmin and Navionics in order to provide you with exceptional detail. Regions are larger than previous charting from Garmin and provide High Resolution Relief Shading, Auto Guidance+ routing, High Resolution Satellite Imagery, Sonar Imagery, Aerial Photography, SideScan Images and 1-year of free daily updates via the Garmin ActiveCaptain app! Garmin Navionics Vision+ charts require premium content to be downloaded post purchase via the ActiveCaptain app with a compatible smartphone or tablet. All premium chart options are available in the region of your choice and sold separately.

Sonar

Designed as a chartplotter, the GPSMAP 9224 can be enhanced with sonar capabilities by adding in one of Garmin's external sonar Modules. Choose from the extensive line of GSD Sonar modules to add CHIRP, CHIRP ClearVu, CHIRP SideVu or Panoptix All Seeing Sonar. Transducers Required and Sold Separately for Sonar.

Network Support

The 9224 supports Garmin network with 4 available BlueNet Network Ports. Pair your 9224 with compatible Garmin radars, the Garmin SiriusXM weather module, multiple Garmin GPSMAP displays, compatible IP Cameras and more! The 9224 also includes 1 NMEA 2000 port, 1 BNC Composite video input port and 2 HDMI input ports, 1 HDMI Video Output Port, J1939 Port, 4 NMEA0183 Connections via 2 NMEA 0183 Ports* (*NMEA0183 Cable Required for NMEA0183 Connections), 2 USB-C ports, Bluetooth pairing, ANT+ connectivity and Garmin WiFi connection are all high-end features of the 9200 series. NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 allows for the connection of autopilots, digital switching, FUSION-Link audio system, VHF, AIS and more!

ActiveCaptain

For the ultimate boating experience, Garmin has made the 9200 series fully compatible with their ActiveCaptain App. Pair with your smartphone or tablet and pre-plan trips, mark waypoints, update software and even purchase maps. Plus within the active captain community you can rely on fellow boaters for more information about marinas and other POI's in the area no matter where you travel. And with wireless synching changes you make on your activecaptain app will automatically sync with your 9200 series - making transferring of waypoints and routes a breeze! But if that’s still not enough, you can even control your chartplotter via your phone or tablet. No more constantly standing on the bridge, take your smart device and walk around your vessel yet still have control over your display.
